Massage therapy and soft tissue therapy uses touch to treat musculoskeletal pain or disfunction by manipulating the body’s muscles and soft tissue.
I can help whether you need a soothing massage to provide relief from stress, a deep tissue or sports massage to relieve aches and pains, or soft tissue treatment for a specific problem or injury. Treatments alleviate pain, prevent injury, increase flexibility and mobility, and help keep your body in good functional order whether you visit regularly or on a more ad-hoc basis.
I am passionate about delivering specialised treatments that will help you feel better, move better and perform better. I will work with you to provide a tailored assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programme, aiming to get you pain and injury free as soon as possible.
I may combine massage treatments with dry cupping, hot stone therapy and kinesiology taping where appropriate.
If you are suffering with any muscular aches and pains, reduction in mobility, or think you would benefit from having a specialist maintenance massage – or would just like to try one – why not get in touch and see how I could help. Massage Therapy can help to:

Rock Pods are a version of myofascial cupping. They are silicone cups that stick to your skin and create a vacuum inside to help relieve pain and soreness and improve range of movement. Decompression helps to lift, separate and stretch underlying soft tissues, drawing blood to the surface of the skin. This may be used as part of your treatment as and when I feel it would be beneficial to you.
Rock Pods can:
Warm, smooth basalt stones are used during a deep tissue treatment to glide over the surface of the skin to help relax, heal and sooth your muscles. The heat from the stones encourages the release of endorphins, dilates blood capillaries and boosts the flow of nutrient rich blood to tight muscles, ligaments and fascia. Traditional hot stone massage techniques are used alongside trigger point work and stretching to help relieve chronic pain, alleviate muscle tension and induce deep relaxation.
Hot Stone Therapy can:
Kinesiology taping can be combined with other massage techniques to provide support to help prevent injury and speed up recovery. It also reduces inflammation and increases circulation as it lifts the skin underneath the tape.

I can use a range of assessment methods to determine whether soft tissue or massage therapy is right for you and devise a suitable tailored treatment plan to address any injuries or muscular discomfort you may be suffering.
On your first visit I will assess your current condition and will take a brief medical/injury history. This means the cause of your problem can be worked on, rather than just the symptoms.
This is likely to include a range of soft tissue therapy and massage techniques designed to help you recover from your injury or treat your specific condition as quickly as possible. Where appropriate, advise on suitable stretches and exercises may be given. Every treatment is individual to each client.
This technique uses firm pressure and slow massage strokes to reach deep layers of muscle and fascia to relieve immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain.
This technique uses gentle muscle contractions to relax and lengthen muscles to increase range of motion and flexibility. It can restore the muscles and fascia to their original length and provides a feeling of stretch.
Muscles, bones and soft tissues are held together by a big web of connective tissue called fascia. Myofascial release techniques warm, stretch and release the fascia to help reduce adhesions and scar tissue and improve fluid circulation and movement.
This technique uses deep, focused pressure on a localised area of excessive tension for a sustained period of time, to create relaxation within soft tissues. This is achieved by overcoming the normal neuromuscular reflex (to contract a painful muscle) allowing the reflex pathway to be reset back to a normal level.
This is a very versatile way to release areas of scar tissue/adhesions and can help muscles regain their elasticity. STR uses an assisted pain-free stretch of your muscle fibres, tendons and connective tissue to break down adhesive bonds that may be binding them together.
Pain can be caused by knots/trigger points. This is a neuromuscular therapy designed to speed up recovery from injury, correct muscular imbalances and relieve pain.
